Gap Year

Scholars & Students struggle with the decision about whether or not they should take a Gap Year.

Traveling, working, meeting people, learning new skills or just experiencing independence and adventure, are just a few of the things that Gap Years are all about. If you do not know what you want to study, it is a good way to experience things that you have not experienced before and possibly find your niche. Or, if you know what you want to study but need a little bit of time to yourself then taking a Gap Year is the best way to enjoy your independence.

Life is about experience, and experience is the study of new things. So let your hair down, be yourself and break free of your 'natural' environment. Work in an industry that you have never worked in. Go skiing in the mountains of Switzerland. Volunteer in a third world country & see the wonders that these places have to offer.

GapYear.co.za was put together by people who have enjoyed their Gap Years, come home, and are working and are living their lives with more enthusiasm and drive than they ever would have had they not undertaken their Gap Year journey (Some of us are still on our gap year 10 years later).
